Obituary

MANTACHIE - William Allen Spradling, more commonly known as "Bubber," passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born October 10, 1936, in Itawamba County to the late Charlie William and Gertie Mae Kimble Spradling. Bubber poured concrete most of his working life, including work in construction of the Tenn-Tom Waterway. He was a US Army Veteran stationed in Hawaii in the 1950s and was a member of Lakeland Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and building bird houses.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David "E.T." Turner and Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Ozark Cemetery.

Survivors include his son, Greg (Talana) Spradling, of Mantachie; his daughter, Candice (John Wesley) Tutor of Saltillo; seven grandchildren, Meghan (Thomas) Guin, Allie (John) Whitaker, Emily (Austin) McDivitt, Karlie (Landon) Goff, Jake (Taylor) Spradling, Kagen McKinney, and Jaden Lusk; 14 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; his sister, Betty Perry of Mantachie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Kathyern Russell Spradling, on January 10, 2025; his parents; and one brother, Tommy Gene Spradling.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lindsey, Austin McDivitt, John Whitaker, Landon Goff, Jake Spradling, and Thomas Guin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Nabors, Steve Wilburn, Joe Wilburn, Rocky Lindsey, Clint Oswalt, Michael Pearce, Eugene Taylor, and Barry Thrasher.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bubber's memory to Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS  38803.
