William David “Wigg” Reynolds, Sr., 78, passed away on July 21, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Wigg was born on December 28, 1947 to William Dorsey Reynolds and Ruby Mae Riddle. He grew up in Itawamba County as the middle child to his sisters, Judy and Elaine. He attended Mantachie School where he loved playing football. Mantachie is also where he met his life-long love, Sandra Jean Johnson. They were married on June 29, 1968 and had two children, David and Morgan.
Wigg was the ultimate example of hard-work, honesty, and integrity and his part-time tire business quickly turned into his life-long career. He opened Wigg’s Tire Center and spent over 50 years serving the people of Mantachie and Itawamba County. When he wasn’t working, Wigg spent his time coaching baseball and football. He has coached and mentored countless young men throughout the years.
Wigg leaves behind his wife, Sandra Reynolds; his son, David Reynolds (Misty); his daughter, Morgan Reed (Stephen); his sisters, Judy Freeman and Elaine Wigginton; his grandchildren, Callie Frederick (Bradley), Will Reynolds (Summer), Tripp Tucker, Doss Tucker, Boone Tucker, Ebby Tucker, Avy Reed, Jaden Scott and Madison Scott; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Dorsey and Ruby Reynolds and a host of family and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Ricky Lesley, Bro. Henry Jenkins, and Bro. Ronnie Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is entrusted with arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Will Reynolds, Bradley Frederick, Tripp Tucker, Dru Carpenter, Grant Kirksey, Greg Spradling, Tom Jones, Gary Loague, Matt Graham, Barry Reynolds, and Mule Reynolds.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his former football and baseball players.
