Obituary

Susie May Taylor, 83, died Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at her home. She was born May 12, 1935, to Jim and Lena Markum Thompson. She worked over 30 years at Mantachie and Marietta Manufacturing. She was a member of the Center Star Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, family reunions, her cat "Fluffy", her dog "Spanky". She loved her family, and especially loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Services will be at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, February 21, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Ray Guin officiating. Josh Reese will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.


Survivors include one son, Randall Taylor (Bethany) of Guntersville, AL; two daughters, Sandra Rayburn (Donald), and Lisa Hearn (Doug), both of the Ratliff community; one brother, J.T. Thompson (Willie Pearl) of Mantachie; eleven grandchildren, Josh Reese, Justin Robbins, Tyler Robbins, Hunter Taylor, Haley Taylor, Justin Rayburn, Melanie Ewing, Brandon Hearn, Amanda Hearn, Paige Robbins, Christy Reese; ten great grandchildren, Kason Robbins, Moe Reese, Sonny Reese, Austin Williams, Secily McDonald, Brody Ellis, Cooper Ewing, Camden Ewing, Lexie Rayburn, and Bailey Rayburn; a sister-in-law, Ann Thompson of Centerville; two nephews, Gary Anderson and Mickey Taylor; her extended family, Willease Rock , Terry Taylor (Rita), Ray Guin, and Jerry Taylor (Gail).


She was preceded in death by her husband, Delton "Sonny" Taylor; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma Hester (Charles), and Mildred Anderson (Wayne); one brother, Raymond Thompson; three half–sisters, Avis Thompson Nanny, Lillie Thompson Rodgers, and Amy Thompson Franks; her extended family, Graden Rock and Judy Guin; and her parents.


Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.


Honorary pallbearers will be her grands and great grandchildren.


Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p. m. Wednesday, and from Noon until service time on Thursday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.


The family wishes to thank the caretakers of Kindred Hospice, Patsy Elliff, and cardiologist Dr. James Johnson.
