Ruby M. Mitchell, 94, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the Courtyards Nursing Home. She was born September 10, 1924, to John Thomas and Mae Bell Franks Thornton. She worked at Genesco and Blue Bell for many years. She was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Chuch. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, puzzles, and being around her family, especially her grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, March 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Loyd Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Sandy Springs Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Mitchell (Debbie) of Mantachie and Ricky Mitchell (Clara) of Fulton; one daughter, Cathy Holcomb (Harold) of Fulton; three sisters, Lois Owens of Sherman, Luna Steward (Junior) of Fulton, and Zelma Loague of Dorsey; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; 0ne great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Mitchell, Jr,; one son, Jackie Mitchell; one infant daughter, Eula Mae Mitchell; three brothers, Verlon Thornton, Charlie Thornton, and Ceburn Thornton.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and will continue from 7:00 a. m. until service time on Thursday.
