Obituary

Ruby Faye Massey, 92, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at her home. She was born January 8, 1931, in Itawamba County, to Marshall Henry and Jessie Reynolds Sheffield. She was a 1949 graduate of Itawamba Agriculture High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mantachie. She worked at Lucky Star in Tupelo, and retired from Mantachie Manufacturing. After retirement, she enjoyed working at Centerville Fish and Steak House with her family. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, and family gatherings that she had at her home while she was still able.

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David Perry and Bro. Grady Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie cemetery.

Survivors include her sons, Jackie Massey (Judy), and Randy Massey (Debbie); one sister, Frances Bearden (Gary); two brothers, Bobby Gene Sheffield and Billy Sheffield (Virginia); two grandchildren, Cameron Massey and Adam Spradling; six great grandchildren; one great -great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Numan Massey, who died in 1977; four brothers, Gerald Sheffield, Jerry Lee Sheffield, David Sheffield, and Danny Sheffield; three sisters, Sue Holder, Sarah Farrar, and Janice Webb; one grandson, Grant Spradling; and her parents.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
