Peggy Jean Stephens, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at The Meadows. She was born January 10, 1940, to William and Mamie Whitehead Boren. She worked at Mantachie and Houston Headstart for over 50 years.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

Survivors include four daughters, Kim Jones of Tupelo, Cindy Perry (David) of Mantachie, Karen Dickerson (Richard) of Lufkin, TX, and Pam Perry (Chris) of Fulton; six grandsons, David Perry (Johnna), Ben Rollins (Madie), Maverick Smith (Maria), Levi Dickerson, Broderick Dickerson, and Brandon Dickerson; two great granddaughters, Brylee Perry and Landyn Perry; one brother, Paul Boren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Billy Stephens; one brother, Mac Boren; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
