PLANTERSVILLE/STARKVILLE - James Matthew Hester, 25, went to his home in Heaven on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. He was born June 29, 1999, in Tupelo to James David Hester and Glenda Gail Gist Orsborn. He attended Rolling Hills in Starkville and previously attended the Ellisville State School. Matthew touched many people's lives during his short time on earth.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Chapel Cemetery at Nettleton.

He is survived by his mother, Glenda Orsborn (Michael) of Plantersville; his father, David Hester of Nettleton; two sisters, Allison Hester of Smithville and Hanna Willard (Gregory, Sr.) of Amory; two nieces, Emma Shamlin and Anna Willard; and two nephews, Colton Davidson and Gregory Willard, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Linda Gist and Billy Hester.

Pallbearers will be Dale Hester, Doug Hester, Gregory Willard, Sr., Jeremy Carter, Bradley Gist, Sean Baucom, and Gary Davidson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
