GERMANTOWN, TN/ MANTACHIE -  Mary Alice Wilson, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at her home in Germantown, TN, after a sudden illness. She was born September 6, 1936, in Itawamba County, to James Sullivan and Mary Ellen Wilson Ray. She was retired after being a school teacher for more than 30 years, mostly at H.W. Byers Elementary School in Marshall County. She was a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and traveling. She was an avid and accomplished bridge player, and still played two to three times a week.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Veda Wilson; two sons, Herbert W. Wilson, Jr. and James Wilson (Melissa); two granddaughters, Katelynn Wilson and Elizabeth Wilson, all of Germantown, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert W. Wilson, who died in 2019; one sister, Marie Ray Roberts; three brothers, twins Billy Delbert Ray and Robert Elbert Ray, and Jack Ray; and her parents.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
