GOLDEN - Lorraine S. Spencer, age 72, of Fair Play, SC, went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2019, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit in Tupelo, MS. She was a homemaker who loved her animals over the years from pigs, cats, dogs, horses, and even an emu named Woubles. After her husband of 30 years, David L. Spencer, went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2018, Lorraine moved to Mississippi with her step-son, James Spencer, his wife Laura, and grandchildren Beth, John, and Amanda Spencer to care for, love her, and hold her hand until the end of her illness that took her home.

She is survived by one son, Christopher Bryson (Christy) of Walhalla, SC; three step-children, James Spencer (Laura) of Golden, MS, Anthony Spencer (Judy) of Vina, AL, and Candy S. Wright (Andy) of Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren, Simon Bryson of Walhalla, SC, Beth Spencer and Jonathan Spencer (Amanda), both of Golden, MS, and Ashton W. Aldridge (Caleb) and Emily Wright, both of Tuscaloosa, AL; and her honorable friends Dustin Harris, Betty Brown, Carolyn Stanford, Garland West, Heather Williams, Wanda Ridge, and Jessica Young.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Pettigrew Stribling and Edna Lou Johnson Stribling, and one brother, Sam Stribling.

A small service for family and friends will be held at a later date at Earles Grove Baptist Church in Fair Play, SC, with Bro. James Dyer officiating.
