MANTACHIE – Vera Kathyern Spradling, 82, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, at her home. She was born April 16, 1942, to the late Hollis G. "Dan" and Inez Estes Russell. She was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church for over 50 years. She retired in January 2005 from HM Richards. Kathyern loved sewing; cooking for her loved ones and friends, especially her grandchildren; and playing in her roses.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Bill Adams and Bro. David "E.T." Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Ozark Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William "Bubber" Spradling; her son, Greg (Talana) Spradling of Mantachie; her daughter, Candice (John Wesley) Tutor of Saltillo; seven grandchildren, Meghan (Thomas) Guin, Allie (John) Whitaker, Emily (Austin) McDivitt, Karlie (Landon) Goff, Jake (Taylor) Spradling, Kagen McKinney, and Jaden Lusk; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; a very special niece, Monica Fleming; a very special nephew, Jerry Fleming; a special brother-in-law, Jimmy Burcham; and her brother-in-love, Eugene Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Randy Gordon Russell; one sister, Jeanette Burcham; and her best friend, Shelby Ramey.
Pallbearers will be Randy Lindsey, Jake Spradling, Landon Goff, John Whitaker, Austin McDivitt, and Thomas Guin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Fleming, Rocky Lindsey, Clint Oswalt, and Bro. Jim Manley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, and from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
