Obituary

TREMONT - John Aldrich Wilson, Sr., 88, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at his home.  He was born January 10, 1936, in Itawamba County to James Gordy and Audra Eva Dell Ledbetter Wilson. He worked as a County Agent for the MSU Itawamba County Extension Service before retiring in 2001. He was a member and deacon of Providence Baptist Church and was caretaker of Providence Cemetery for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. John was an avid gardener until he wasn't able, but he still bossed everyone else around to make sure they were doing things to his liking.  He enjoyed football, especially Mississippi State and Ole Miss, and riding his side-by-side on the several trails he made. He was also a bee keeper who loved giving away the honey. Most of all, he was a family man who loved spending his time with them and watching the grandchildren play in the yard.
