Jannette Cooley Brown, 78, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. She was born August 16, 1946, to Prentiss Howard and Flora Alice Whitaker Cooley. She was a homemaker who worked in the garment industry and also was a convenience store owner alongside her husband for many years. She was a member of the Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, especially baking sweets.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. C.W. Franks and Chad Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Ken Brown (Katie) of Mantachie and Mike Brown of Mooreville; two grandchildren, Kristin Holt (Matthew) of Mantachie and Kody Brown (Kandiace) of Starkville; two great grandchildren, Jalen Nichole and Mattie Brooke of Mantachie; one sister, Telsa Mackey of Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenyon Brown, Sr; one sister, Sherry Reno; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Bob Kirksey, Chris Brown, Paul Brown, Michael Mackey, Toby Reno, and Scott Mize.

The family is very appreciative of the great job done by her caregivers, Joyce Clouse, Wilma Samples, Jada Hill Watts, and Marie Brown, and her home healthcare nurse, Renea Brown Hester.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
