MANTACHIE - George Alexander Grooms, 74, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at his home. He was born June 5, 1949, in Florida to Alexander and Lavella Penny Grooms. He was self-employed, having worked at orange groves in Florida and as a painter, and most recently, a mechanic. He enjoyed singing and playing the mandolin.

Services will be private and held at a later date.  McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Grooms; one son, James Alexander Grooms of Booneville; one brother, Larry Grooms of Burton; three sisters, Lillian Strickland of Booneville, and Linda Grooms and Bonnie Tanner, both of Savannah, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Millie Norris and Elizabeth Irene Grooms.
