FULTON/TREMONT - Frankie Julius Yielding, Sr., 84, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at The Meadows. He was born July 14, 1940, on Patton Flat in Itawamba County to James Wesley and Maudie J. Humphries Yielding. He did concrete work in the early years of his career and spent most all his life farming. He was a member of Tremont First Baptist Church where he had perfect attendance in Sunday School for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an expert marksman. Frankie's passion was farming and clearing land, and he enjoyed collecting arrowheads.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, November 29, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Tremont First Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his two sons, Frankie Yielding, Jr. (Kim) and Johnny Lee Yielding (Amanda), all of Fulton; four grandchildren, Emalee Gullick (Trey), Hunter Yielding, Lauren Yielding (Devin Horner), and Audrey South (Chandler); and three great-grandchildren, J.T. Gullick, Josie South, and Jackson Gullick.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ruth Jackson Yielding, on February 21, 2024; his parents, Wess and Maudie Yielding; five brothers, Albert, Bob, Aron, Raymond, and James Jr. Yielding; and three sisters, Maye Robinson, Louise Holley, and Dollie Crane Harbor.
Pallbearers will be Buck Harp, Gail Satterwhite, Gayre Pounders, James Pittman, Jerry McGee, and Harry Stone, Jr.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International or the Tremont First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 132, Tremont, MS 38876.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Sanctuary Hospice and The Meadows for the care they provided.
