MANTACHIE - Faye Moore Kelso, 94, died Monday, June 10, 2019, at Countrywood Manor Assisted Living in Mantachie, Mississippi. Faye, a resident of Lee County, was a devoted wife to Dudley Kenneth Kelso, Sr., for 67 years and a caring mother to their four children. She worked in various positions over the years beginning with Mantachie Manufacturing and ending her working life at Reed's Department Store. She was best remembered for working at the Mantachie Health Clinic alongside Dr. Kirby Bryant and Dr. Tom McDonald. Faye was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and served in various capacities. She was a founding member of the Itawamba Historical Society and enjoyed sharing items of historical interest with both her family and her community.
Faye's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Senter (Tom) and Janice Garrett; sons, Dudley Kenneth, Jr. (Joy), and Hugh (Donna); and a sister, Patty Holley Buse (Jerry). Her grandchildren are Melissa Senter Nance(Grady), Elizabeth Senter Russell (John), Kenneth Garrett (Jennie), Jill Garrett Clark (Chris),Daniel Garrett, Anna Garrett Jackson (Jay), Katie Kelso Harlow (Trey), Dudley Kenneth Kelso III (Jessica), Max Kelso, Barrett Renner, and Megan O'Mara. Other survivors include 17 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Kenneth Kelso, Sr.; her parents, Carlee Moore and Evie Moore Holley; brother, Joe Moore and his wife Delois; and her sister, Louise Chaffin and her husband, Jess. Faye's grandsons and grandsons-in-law will be pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, followed by a celebration of Faye's life at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Joe Coggins will officiate. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery with McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 W. Main St., Tupelo, MS 38801, or to a favorite charity.
