Obituary

Amory- Duane Wray, Sr., 76, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his home after an extended illness. He was born October 1, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ivora and Sarah Shumpert Wray. Duane dedicated his life to Jehovah God on December 29, 1973, to become a minister, to follow the steps of Christ Jesus, and to serve his Heavenly Father Jehovah. Duane was united in marriage to Beverly Watts on July 8, 1966. Duane became a Master Barber in Milwaukee at the age of 17. He would cut people's hair for free, especially children's hair. He worked at Tecumseh Products in Verona for 35 years before retiring. He was known as a hard worker who never missed work. He enjoyed listening to jazz music and watching the San Francisco 49ers play football.

Services will be private. McNeece–Morris Funeral Home in Fulton is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.

Duane and Beverly were blessed with six sons who are left to cherish his memory and legacy, Duane Wray II (Brandy) of Jackson, MS, Dante Wray of Arizona, Damon Wray (Leah) of Atlanta, GA, Devin Wray (Adrian) of Cullman, AL, David Wray (Dedra) of Smithville, and Dalon Wray (Ashanti) of Guntown; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Wray; one sister, Diane Triggs; and his parents.

The family would like to thank all those with the outpouring love and support through calls, text, and Facebook posts. A Special thanks to Shonda Nancy (CNA), Jacob and Nikki (the weekend nurses), and Lindsey and Carrie (Gentiva Hospice nurses) for the devoted care given to the care of our husband and father.
