Donald Wayne Leake, 70, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born May 5, 1953, in Columbia, MS, to Leo Irvin and Camille Quin Leake. He was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church. He graduated from the University of Sothern Mississippi. He was the youngest person to receive his FCC license when he worked at the Columbia Radio Station as a young man and was known as Tall in the Saddle. He was in the Oil Industry and retired the first time from BJ Services Company where he was over Asset Management. He later retired from Cudd Energy Services as their Training Instructor. He was very computer savvy and was a gun enthusiast. He loved his late dog, Bozo.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Thompson Leake; three daughters, Rechelle Holloway of Saltillo, Jessica Guin (Tracy), and Krystal Thompson (Jason), both of Mantachie; one brother, Dr. Raymon Quin Leake (Gloria) of Meridian; one sister, Regina Leake Allen of Columbia, MS; two granddaughters, Paige Green (Johnathan) of Mantachie and Mikayla Hutcheson of Wheeler; two great grandchildren, Harper and James Bowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
