Emily Diane Chamblee, 76, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Red Bay Hospital in Red Bay, AL. She was born January 24, 1947, to Brice and Ione Smith Chamblee. She received her doctorate degree, and was a very talented writer and educator. She was retired from at Bevill State Community College in Hamilton, AL, where she taught social science. She enjoyed flowers, fruit trees, and animals, especially dogs.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Terry Paul Graham officiating. Burial will be in the Old Bethany Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, whom she married October 10, 1992, Paul Sam David "Sam Paul" Sands; two sisters, Larrissa Chamblee of Oakland Community and Carolyn Chamblee of Atlanta, GA.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother and her parents.

Visitation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
