MANTACHIE - Dexter Ramey, 80, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 10, 1938, to the late Buford and Inez Bennett Ramey. On June 30, 1956, he married Shelby Jean Taylor, and they had just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Dexter was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Jim Manning and Bro. Henry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Shelby; two brothers-in-law, Eugene Taylor (Rosie) of Fulton and Jimmy Waters (Donna) of Monroeville, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Clydia Taylor of Fulton; and he is also survived by Hannah Holder and Andrea Webster, granddaughters adopted by love.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Webster, Todd Ladewig, Corey Thompson, Parks Taylor, Bud Taylor, and James Kitchens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
