MANTACHIE - Carolyn Harris Roberts Kirksey made her heavenly flight late Tuesday morning, May 27, 2025, at NMMC surrounded by family and many loved ones. She was born February 8, 1947, and was 78 years old.

Simply put, Carolyn was a people person. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her loved her, and she loved them. She loved working with her flowers and plants and being outside in the sunshine. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed having family and friends in her home for holidays and special occasions. Everyone was welcomed with open arms.

She worked as the manager of Van's Photo in the Tupelo Mall for many years. She also worked as Human Resource Manager at Independent Furniture Supply Company, then worked at United Furniture. Until her recent retirement, she owned and operated her antique shop, Carol's Antiques, in Mantachie, MS, where she loved being able to see so many of her friends.

Carolyn married her sweetheart, Charles "Cubby" Kirksey, on November 8, 2008. Together they loved attending Center Star Church and Tombigbee Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charles "Cubby" Kirksey, of Mantachie; her son, Kevin (Dana) Roberts of Mooreville; her brother, Robbie Harris, her sister, Donna Harris White, and her brother, Ronnie (Kim) Harris, all of Mooreville; her grandchildren she loved so much, Houston (Becky) Roberts, Dru (Ashley) Roberts, Carly Roberts, Cassidy (Zach) Whitaker, Callie Roberts, and Brody Roberts; and a host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, and many cousins whom she all loved.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Michael Keith Roberts; her parents, John and Joy Harris; her brother, Aaron Harris; her sister, Peggy Harris; and her sister-in-law, Sarah Harris.

A service celebrating her life will be at noon Thursday, May 29, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy will provide a meal in the church fellowship hall at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Family and friends are invited to come share in this continued celebration of Carolyn's life.

Pallbearers will be Dru Carpenter, Bob Kirksey, Junior Wilburn, Jerry Wilburn, Andy Loague, Thomas Spradling, Eddie Harris, and Jonathan White.
