Obituary

Bobby Gene Sheffield, 92, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at his home. He was born October 10, 1932, in Dorsey, MS, to Marshall and Jesse Reynolds Sheffield. He was a Veteran, serving in the Unites States Army. He worked at Mid-South Packers and Mueller Brass Industries, where he retired from. He enjoyed farming, gardening, pony-pulling, going to chicken sales, and taking care of all his animals. He loved being around his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Mark Tutor officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Kevin Sheffield (Christy); one daughter in law, Patty Sheffield; one sister, Frances Bearden, all of Mantachie; one brother, Billy Ralph Sheffield of Fairview; seven grandchildren, Nathan Sheffield, Jordan Sheffield (Brandi), Jessica Anderson (Bruce), Brandi Tyra (Andy), Renea Sheffield (Rolan Barlow), Sarah Sheffield (Jared Spigner), and Justin Sheffield; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony Upton, Annabelle Smith, Kelton Tyra, Lexi Tyra, Bradley Anderson, Weston Sheffield, Aisley Sheffield, and Katherine Barlow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Delois Powell Sheffield; one son, Bradley "Tack' Sheffield; one daughter, Charlotte Sheffield; an infant son, Bob, Jr.; an infant daughter, Delois Ann; four sisters, Ruby Faye Massey, Janice Webb, Sue Holder, and Sarah Ann Farrar; four brothers, Gerald Sheffield, David Sheffield, Danny Sheffield, and an infant brother; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Dave Sheffield, Bill Sheffield, Scotty Sheffield, Jason Adams, Jason Sheffield, Bradley Smith, and Rudy Rusoe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Massey, Jackie Massey, and Josh Bearden.

The family wants to say a special thanks to Brandi Waddle, Lacy Brasel, Jessica, and the entire staff of Community Hospice.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
